Lavender Scones
2 1/2 cups flour 1/3 cup sugar 1 Tablespoon baking powder 1/2 cup butter, cold, cut into small pieces 2/3 cup milk 1-2 Tablespoons lavender
Put the dry ingredients into a bowl and mix well. Cut the butter up on a cutting board, then mix in with a pasty cutter or a sturdy fork. Mix in the lavender. Slowly add the milk, turning gently until fully mixed.
Roll the dough on well-floured surface to be inch thick. Cut with floured biscuit cutter, or knife. Place about 1 inch apart on cookie sheet and bake about 10-15 minutes at 375 until firm to the touch and just barely brown.
